It was the performance that inspired me more than the result. Some may say it was the "Wembley Factor", I'd say it was the fear of loosing and not being in the Euro 2008 finals that drove them on to pass and tackle well.

Through my beer affected eyes I could see a great strike from Shaun Wright-Phillips followed by another by Michael Owen and very good headed goal from Micah Richards. Despite not scoring Emile Heskey certainly did his part in stretching the defence and being a general nuisance.


Mclaren said the next game against Russia is just as crucial but you've got to say "job well done".
