Swiss Public Give Narrow Backing to Tournament

It was hearts in mouths time for the Swiss Euro 2008 organisers as the locals of Berne gave a narrow vote in favour of funding part of the tournament.

The organisers were just 2% away from defeat as 52% voted in favour of a $4.5m contribution to staging the games.
