So Bekham's Back

The pressure must have got to Steve Mclaren for him to give in and include David Beckham. When the England manager took "office" he talked about a fresh start and the youth of the team. And now he's bringing back a player that's going over to the football graveyard that is Major League Soccer.

Are we being too harsh on David? Well yes. The media are loving it, they love building up and knocking down players they love the intrigue and they revel in managers backtracking.

In my mind David's return is well overdue. He'll give the team the backbone and passion that has been missing from players like Lampard and Gerrard. David should add some spunk to the team, he's the country's talisman. He oozes Englishness. He loves the Cross of St. George and should be given the opportunity to obtain his 100th cap and carry the lads to Euro 2008 qualifying success.
