Wales 1-5 Slovakia

Not the match 'keeper Paul Jones would have wanted for his 50th cap as he saw his side go down to their worst home defeat for 98 years 1-5 to the Slovaks with one of the goals a woeful error as he tried to clear his line.

Dusan Svento put the visitors one up after a quarter of an hour with a well-worked strike. Then game Jones's fluff which was followed by the very youthful Gareth Bale who slotted home a nice free-kick.

Mintal made it 1-3 with a excellent 40-yard free kick. Following the break Miroslav Karhan chipped in from the edge of the box and then Robert Vittek made it a sorry end with the Wesh Dragons finishing up 1-5 loosers on the day.

Let's hope they can make up for things and get some points on the board against Cyprus on Wednesday.
