Macedonia 1:0 England
Well that was function over style. England's second Euro 2008 qualifying game was far from beautiful football but it was a prime example of getting the job done away from home against a tackling, strong side.
Macedonia were no Andorra, they had the ability to stick the foot in and win the ball. But there were similarities to the last game, the referee was chuffing annoying. He blew up for absolutely everything, England couldn't tackle without the game being stopped. But at the end of the day, it's a nother three points and that's all you could want.
We face Macedonia at home next month. With Rooney back we should have more of the ball and spend much more of the game in the opposition half.
