England Favourites Already

Looking round the betting sites that offer odds on the Euro 2008 it's amazing that England have been installed as favourites already!

Only one game has passed and that was possibly the easiest fixture England could have faced, and the bookies have reduced the odds of England winning Euro 2008 to just 5-1!

Probably this was a result of Italy's poor performance against Lithunia where they could only gain a solitary point and they've got a couple of tough games against France and Ukraine whereas England have a simpler draw.

But we should ignore the two autumns of qualifying to go. Despite the fact that the teams won't have to play in the dead of winter, the'll still have to make trips to the relative cool of Croatia and Russia in the next two Octobers and get results.

And that's not to mention the highly talented teams from Portgual, Spain, Holland and Czech Republic!
