National Teams Compensating For Player Injury?
The BBC is reporting that the major clubs in Europe are supporting Charleroi in court against FIFA over compensation for a player injured in an international match.
This could worsen the relationship many clubs have with players national Football Associations given the number of players that are frequently injured on international duty.
The Welsh FA for one doubt their ability to be able to afford any sort of compensation package. The FAW Secretary General David Collins commented: "We just can't see how we could generate money to pay the players."
And he's not light with his words as he continues: "International football as we know it would cease."
